Technology:
I used iMovie for the first time to make this video. Having had previous experience using Final Cut Pro X, I found it fairly easy adjusting because of the extremely similar controls. Editing was simple and easy to get the hang of, and I used the effects at my disposable to make the trailer as interesting as possible. iMovie made it easy to be creative. I used the inbuilt YouTube 'share' feature on iMovie to upload it to YouTube, and the embedding function on YouTube to share it on both my college and personal blogs.

Creativity:
I tried to be as creative as possible when creating my trailer. I used slow motion and a vignette in one scene, I used a 'sci-fi' video effect on 2 sets of clips and changed the sound. I used my own writing for things such as 'one street/four families'. I put a jazz soundtrack (from the iMovie royalty-free collection) on my trailer and I changed the volume on every clip. On the clips I wanted no sound I turned it down to mute, and on the clips where I had people talking I turned it up so the dialogue could be heard over the non-diegetic music. At the end of the video, I concluded the trailer with the Coronation Street theme tune. The theme tune is iconic in the soap genre and very recognisable so it was important to include it. The theme was detached from the video so I could play it over the last few clips and have a good transition between the end of the jazz soundtrack and the beginning of the theme tune.

Soap Opera Conventions:
I tried to keep the trailer filled with conventions of the soap-opera genre. I tried to make it dramatic, with a clip of someone ranting about people and a slow motion shot of someone turning round. This added emphasis on the 'drama' that's involved in the show.

This is the presentation I made as a practice for my media coursework. I just wanted some practice as to how I'd make my work flow.

Technology:
I used a digital camera to take the pictures of my work and then uploaded them via USB to a computer to put into Powerpoint. I used an online resource called 'Slideshare' to convert my Powerpoint presentation into a smaller presentation that can be embedded onto this blog. I embedded the presentation via HTML.

All the technology I used worked as expected. There were no faults with the camera or tripod I used to create the stop motion animation and uploading via USB. 'Slideshare' worked perfectly and embedding to my blog was easy.

Creativity:My stop motion animation didn't go as well as I hoped. One reason for this was that we worked as a group and my team mates let me down. We each made one sequence, to put them together and make our final piece. However, my two colleagues didn't produce anything so I was left with just my one, incredibly short final piece. It would have worked better had I been more independent and not relied on anyone else and if I had a backup plan for incase my colleagues' work was not to a high enough standard.
